TRANSLATING WIND INTO AN ILLUMINATING SOURCE OF POWER

We have harnessed wind for thousands of years for transport, agriculture, and power.Efficient and effective power generators.

  1. A wind turbine uses less than 1 acre of land, and the land can be farmed right up to the turbine base.
  2. They also don't use water to generate power unlike coal, gas and nuclear. Each turbine saves 174000 bath tubs of water every year.

Energy patterns:

  1. Wind turbine blades rotate at 15-20 rpm generating electricity, providing power to the national grid, powering local homes and businesses.
  2. The energy generated by a wind turbine within 6 months is equivalent to the energy used in constructing a wind turbine and it keeps on generating green energy for 25 years.
  3. A turbine displaces 2365 tonnes of CO2 every year, which is the equivalent of driving from Delhi to Udaipur 30000 times.

Of the renewable energy technologies applied to electricity generation, wind energy ranks second only to large hydro in terms of installed capacity, and is growing rapidly. India is considered one of the most promising countries for wind power development in the world. “With 17,700 MW of installed capacity, India's rank in harnessing wind energy is fifth in the world after the USA, China, Germany and Spain”. According to Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, the total wind energy installed capacity in India is expected to further increase to 32,700 MW in 2017 and to 47,700 MW by 2022.

Seasonal Tilt Panel Mounting Structure is the low cost alternative to tracker systems which facilitates the change in tilt angle to maximize the total annual incident irradiation and total annual energy yield. The angle of inclination (tilt) of adjustable solar panel mount can be changed 2 or 3 times during the year which will increase overall panel output up to 5%.

INNOVATIVE RESIDENTIAL SOLAR INSTALLATIONS

1. Grid Connected Home Solar Power (No Batteries):
TApproximately 90% of all systems installed in the last 5 years are systems connected to the grid without battery back-up. These are the cheapest and easiest systems to design and install. You are using the electrical grid as your ‘battery’. If you need power, you draw it off the grid as before. If you are producing more than using (like during the workday on a sunny day) you export the excess power back to the grid. Depending on your utility, you will get a credit back for your excess production.

2. Grid Connected Home Solar Power with Batteries:
These systems are connected to the grid just like the other ones, but also have batteries to provide storage to be used during an outage. When your batteries are fully charged, all excess power will be sent out to the grid as before. During an outage, the batteries will run your critical loads until either the power comes back on or the batteries run dry. These are the most complex and expensive. People that have these systems usually have specific needs like medical or professional.

3. Off Grid Home Solar Power Systems:
Off grid systems are ones where people are not connected to the electric utility. They create, store, and use all their own power. They need to know exactly how much power they require and how much access they have to the solar resource (the sun).

Fix Ballast Structure
The Fix Ballast structure with wind shield is specially designed for flat roof with limited load capacity. Sloped design on the rear side seals the system and reduces the suction force of the wind on the system. When the wind penetrates through the gaps, shield supports in preventing uniform distribution of air flow causing strong three dimensional flow patterns. This structure produces aerodynamic effect making the system stable under big wind load and prevents the frame from overturning/lifting by high wind.

Rails Clamping Structure
For inclined metallic roofs rails clamping structure is figuratively simple and robust solution which is an aesthetically pleasing structure. The connection with the roof draws the strength from the building making it stay rigid to heavy winds to give desirable quality with less number of penetrations over the roof.

Flat Seam Standing Structure
Flat Seam Standing Structure Solution is one of its kind non-penetrative solutions in metallic roof top solutions. Unlike other structures which uses purlins for strength, this structure has clamps directly connecting the roof with modules in landscape orientation and the stability to the structures is fortified by the roof sheet itself.

ROOFTOP AREA REQUIREMENT ESTIMATOR

To maximize the efficiency levels of a plant, it is important to determine how much rooftop area is required for the solar power plant for a specific plant capacity. Two factors majorly decide the area required for a particular capacity and panel efficiency:

Shade-free area: It is critical to ensure that no shadow falls on the PV plant throughout the year, for shadows falling on the panels not only reduce power output but also damage the panel. Therefore, unused rooftop area needs to be assessed to determine the amount of shade-free area available for installing a panel.

Panel efficiency: For the same solar power plant capacity, the area required depends on the efficiency of solar panels. Higher efficiency solar panels require smaller areas, while panels with lower efficiencies require a relatively larger area.
